2009 will be a very busy and productive year for me and I couldn’t be more excited about it because it’s all about music! (creating, recording & touring)

BIRDS OF PREY
The new album called “The Hell Preacher” is completely finished… mixed, mastered, layout, the whole nine yards and will be released by Relapse Records this coming spring.  “The Hell Preacher” is the most accomplished music we have written together and display’s the morbid fascination of Ben Hogg in the form of a concept album.  More info & updates at:

BURNT BY THE SUN
I have completed the drum tracks for our final album titled “Heart of Darkness” and I couldn’t be more excited.  I pulled off everything I wanted to performance wise and I think I may have captured my best drum sound to date.  Thanks to the wonderful Trick Drums that I play and with the help of Eric Rachel at Trax East.  I also used the new Paiste Signature Reflector Cymbals and they sound totally amazing. Guitars are still being tracked to be followed by vocals (bass is done) this week.  In sum, this is most likely the heaviest and darkest record I’ve ever recorded. It’s tentatively due out in June on Relapse Records.

DISCORDANCE AXIS
2000’s “The Inalienable Dreamless” has been inducted into Decibel Magazine’s
Hall of Fame in the March 2009 issue, which just happens to be the Grindcore Issue. To be recognized for an album I am very proud of is a total honor for me.

MUNICIPAL WASTE
2009. Year of the Waste. I say that cause’ we’ll be as busy as ever.  March 4th we head into the studio to follow up 2007’s “The Art of Partying”.  Armed with a killer group of new songs that are not only more catchy and clever, they pack the punch to up the ante while both honoring punk preservation and putting the pedal to the metal.  I’ve been working really hard on making my drumming for this record the most focused and colorful drumming for the Waste yet… and with my drum tracks for Burnt by the Sun out of way I can fully concentrate on putting in the time needed to satisfy my inner drum nerd needs while contributing and anchoring these toxic tunes. Zuess will be on hand to aide us in finding the perfect sounds, which I am psyched about ’cause he’s easy to work with.
After recording we head to out on the campaign trail for world domination, haha.  In all seriousness, we have a lot of touring planned for pre and post new record, hitting places we haven’t been to yet and playing for crowds who are unfamiliar with the Waste.  Exciting times lie ahead.
